In the last week, I was in DES501 Class so I didn’t addend in MUV601. In my opinion, the virtual world is more interesting and this is my first contact with the virtual world. I am so excited about it.
- What is a virtual world?
The virtual world is a world that is connected to the real world but independent of the real world. Users can create a virtual character in the virtual world, live and communicate in the virtual world. Users can choose a 3D model as their avatar in the virtual world and communicate through various media such as text, images, sounds, and videos.
- What do you find interesting about virtual worlds?
When we create a 3D model, we can choose any characters that you like and you can become anything you want to be. For example, I want to be an angle and I added a wing to myself in the virtual world.
What’s more, we can create something in the virtual world that we don’t have in real life. For example, a beautiful big house, a cool car and so on.
- How important do you think virtual worlds are now?
I think virtual world is important now. The virtual world is a great way to help people unpack. People can temporarily break away from the real world, let go of the pressures brought by the real world and enjoy the freedom in the virtual world.
The virtual world also has an important impact on people’s way of thinking. People recognize and accept the diversity of objective reality, as well as the relevance of specific objective realities to thematic activities. It also requires people to think about things as a whole and to think creatively.
- How important do you think virtual worlds will be in 5-10 years?
Just as VR has always been a hot topic in media and technology, the virtual world will also occupy an important position in the future of life. We will not use textbooks in 5-10 years and they will be replaced by computers. We have classes and meetings in virtual world. I think it is a good way to save resources.
The 3D technology used in the virtual world will also be widely used in the film industry in 5-10 years. We will see more and more excellent 3D movie works.
